Holiday in Brighton, England: Part 3

We woke up to weak sunlight, but some sun in England in December is always good. This is one of Brighton’s two piers, the one that burned down in 2003, but as it’s in the middle of the water, they just left it and its become one of the postcards of Brighton: 20151228_120709.jpg As lovely as it’s been to visit everyone, en route to have coffee with a friend of mine, it was hard not to notice all the gum on the pavement after months of much, much less gum on American sidewalks: 20151228_100737.jpg

I’d also forgotten just how humid it is. I don’t think Americans actively think of England as being humid, but rather being green, but in the same way that Florida is green because it’s humid and rainy, it’s the same for England. It’s just damp cold instead of damp warm. It did made me miss having a dehumidifier. It would have been handy at the hotel.

I finally had time for a bit of shopping on the way back from my very lovely coffee at the Mad Hatter and bought us a new selfie stick, which we will blog about later. We didn’t have time to get it charged up before going out yet again for a lovely meal with still more friends, but then did take it out for our second major meal of the day with still more friends.

Here’s the video:

On the last day, a partial, I had coffee with one more friend before leaving the area. We are definitely fully on the UK schedule as we woke up much earlier than intended at 8:30.

We worked our way back to Slough afterwards and it took an age as things were very traffic-y the whole way.

We tried a few alternate routes, but as obscure as some of them were, it still took over 2 hours to go 75 miles.
