Day 15 Part 1: Omaha, Nebraska

It’s obviously very early days, but of the places we’ve been, Omaha seemed like one of the most viable candidates so far. It is a very clean, well maintained area. In addition to its amazing zoo, it had several nice areas to live in, most of the facilities we would be interested in, and a diverse economy. The downtown area was very pleasant. It has a Victorian looking center with large businesses a bit further down the road, with some nice parks and commercial areas thrown in. It seemed to be a thriving place that was reasonably near some other places (in the universe you know, unlike, say, most of Wyoming) and full of people that for the most part seemed to like living there.

One big downside to Omaha is the lack of international airport though. This is not an absolute deal breaker, but it would be useful and preferable not to need a connection flight to get to Chris’s parents. It is also about as far from the ocean as you can get.
