Downtime

Yesterday was fairly stressful with the unexpectedly dental hijenx since Chris had never had any dental issues before (not so much as a cavity) and we had to deal with insurance much sooner than we were hoping or expecting to. Plus, we are still fairly jet lagged. Even though we got up at a proper time the first two days in Onalaska, I was still completely exhausted yesterday. I feel better today though both from more and better sleep and from getting my neck sorted out at least somewhat.  Travel and moving are so hard on the body.

We won’t be doing anything quite as interesting or as useful as we had hoped given Chris is still in a lot of pain and not up to moving around much. He could barely eat jello this morning, though he finally managed a yogurt about 20 minutes ago.

On the upside, the weather is very pleasant. It’s sunny and 70F/21C. Having lived in England the last five years, there is a big part of me that feels like I should go outside all day since it’s actually properly sunny. Given spring and summer tend to be nice in Wisconsin, I’ve held off though since just leaving Chris in the house with his meds and his frozen bag of peas would just be mean.

Tomorrow it’s meant to get all the way up to 82F/27C, which will be the warmest I’ve been in a very long time. Here’s hoping Chris will be a bit better and we can enjoy it.

PS – If anyone had trouble with the site popping up something admin-y yesterday, we have resolved that. It was related to one of the plugins and has since been fixed.
