Wells Fargo History Museum in Phoenix

When both my parents and Chris’s parents were here in May, we took them all to the Wells Fargo History Museum. We did this for a few reasons. Chris works for them. It also sounded like about the right size for a museum in that it’s the kind of place to spend about an hour rather than all day, so it seemed an appropriate experience for 6 people with different interests. More than all that, Wells Fargo is deeply entrenched in the history of the American West. When people think of the West, their stage coach carrying post through the untamed wilderness is one of the iconic images that springs to mind:

Now it’s a massive bank of course, but one of its main selling points in the beginning was its ability to connect the East to California at a time when that was a challenge. Mr. William G. Fargo, the Fargo in Wells Fargo, is the same man the city in North Dakota is named for.
