In the process of creating this train and doing this blog, we have realized that our chosen location has another perk. Apparently Lego stores are not at all common. There are two in the entire state of Arizona, none in New Mexico and 13 in all of the UK. The Phoenix area has two, one in our neighborhood, one 50 miles from us clear on the other side of the city (which gives an idea of just how big the Phoenix metropolitan area is). An employee at our local store told us they frequently get people coming up from Tuscon, 100 miles away, as it is still their closest store.
We happened to live near one in Brighton, UK and now happen to be quite near to one of the only ones in the region. We didn’t do it in purpose, but Chris has definitely been enjoying our proximity even more knowing that it was actually quite unlikely.
