Day 87: Into Texas

We spent the whole morning in the hotel editing, blogging and swimming just because it was so nice compared to most places we’ve been recently and we wanted to spend more time in comfort and relative luxury. The breakfast was excellent again and they let us have an extremely late checkout. Still as highly recommended as yesterday.

We looked around a housing area recommended by the people at the hotel. It wasn’t bad, but the houses were quite close together even though very attractive, so probably not for us given one of our goals is ample indoor and outdoor space.

We went to our first and what will probably be our only Popeyes. They don’t have them in Wisconsin to my knowledge, but I’ve seen loads of them since about Pennsylvania, so I am sure many of you are familiar with them. We thought we’d save it for Louisiana since it’s from here, but I must say, I prefer everything else I ate in Louisiana more.

We decided we’d seen enough of what is the Deep South and bombed our way over into Texas. The horrible rain storm stopped just long enough for us to take some nice piccies at the welcome center:

2015-09-02 15.28.31-1 2015-09-02 15.43.25-1We are excited to be in what I am under the impression is a new region. We have done 3 whole regions, plus Florida (which also just felt like its own entity rather than being fully part of any other region).
