They were on my dad&#8217;s bucket list, so we thought we&#8217;d go check them out with my parents when they were here. They are continuation of the wetter higher desert that the man at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/?p=4877\" target=\"_blank\">Usury Mountain Park<\/a> told us about. It was an epic 116F when we did this, but honestly, it was still fine \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>They are called the Superstitions because some of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Apache\" target=\"_blank\">Apache<\/a> believed that a hole leading to the underworld, or hell, is located in them.<\/p>\n<p>We saw our first lake in Arizona in the mountains, canyon lake. It is a popular boating destination, though I doubt we will be using it any time soon as I don&#8217;t have the desire to own a boat in the desert and Chris gets sea sick.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/2016-06-04-12.00.02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-5047\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/2016-06-04-12.00.02-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"2016-06-04 12.00.02\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/2016-06-04-12.00.02-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/2016-06-04-12.00.02-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/2016-06-04-12.00.02-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We went to what we thought would be a bit of a tourist trap. In many ways, it was, but <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tortilla_Flat,_Arizona\" target=\"_blank\">Tortilla Flat<\/a>, a town of 6 and the last surviving stagecoach stop on the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Apache_Trail\" target=\"_blank\">Apache Trail<\/a>.
