A difference between the US and the UK is easily bed sizes. We had already been familiar with this difference and it played part in our choice to get rid of our memory foam super king in the UK as all the bedding would have been the wrong sizes in the US. Plus, it has to be one amazing thing to be worth taking across an ocean. We got rid of all of our furniture as a result, as none of it was impressive enough to be worth what it costs to get it across\u00a0the Atlantic.<\/p>\n

Over the course of our trip, we naturally stayed in dozens of different beds. Something we came away from realizing is that we always want a giant bed. Fortunately, Americans make it slightly easier to get this. It’s not just that the sizes are different. UK hotels are much less likely to offer things like a king bed. More than that, a UK king is more similarly sized to a US queen, with a US king being\u00a076\u00a0in \u00d7\u00a080\u00a0in and a \u00a0US queen being\u00a060\u00a0in \u00d7\u00a080\u00a0in, while a UK king is\u00a059\u00a0in \u00d7\u00a079\u00a0in and and a UK super king\u00a071\u00a0in \u00d7\u00a079\u00a0in.<\/p>\n
