Despite this, it was also a bit of a crossroads state as well. It is surely a bigger one, but even so, it had both Western and Southern qualities. The plant life also seemed to be intermediate. It still had some of the plants from the big Eastern forest, but they weren&#8217;t doing as well, where as it was still wet enough not to be a desert proper like New Mexico. A downside to Texas was it has lots of big, angry looking insects. It also apparently has lots of cat and dog eating pests like large birds, which means most Texans need to keep their animals indoors unless they are big enough to fight off another large animal. \u00a0Some major upsides to Texas were the low prices (other than <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/?p=2382\" target=\"_blank\">Austin<\/a>, which is popular enough to be quite expensive compared to the rest of the state). Texans also tend to really love Texas and they were some of the friendliest people in the country. We had a great time there.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/2000px-Texas_in_United_States.svg_.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3661\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/2000px-Texas_in_United_States.svg_-300x186.png\" alt=\"2000px-Texas_in_United_States.svg\" width=\"300\" height=\"186\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/2000px-Texas_in_United_States.svg_-300x186.png 300w, https:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/2000px-Texas_in_United_States.svg_-1024x634.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/2000px-Texas_in_United_States.svg_.png 2000w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Two things that people say that are entirely true about Texas is that everything really is bigger in Texas:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1978\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/2015-09-04-12.34.55-1-e1441563003389-300x226.jpg\" alt=\"2015-09-04 12.34.55-1\" width=\"300\" height=\"226\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/2015-09-04-12.34.55-1-e1441563003389-300x226.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/2015-09-04-12.34.55-1-e1441563003389-1024x771.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Texans also just liked creating cool, weird things more frequently than anywhere else:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2221\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/2015-09-17-12.35.02-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"2015-09-17 12.35.02\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/2015-09-17-12.35.02-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/2015-09-17-12.35.02-1024x576.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>It is also true that Texas is in the Bible Belt. Nos gusta mucho:\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2157\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/2015-09-13-14.57.12-e1442445146301-300x222.jpg\" alt=\"2015-09-13 14.57.12\" width=\"300\" height=\"222\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/2015-09-13-14.57.12-e1442445146301-300x222.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/2015-09-13-14.57.12-e1442445146301-1024x758.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Our favorite city<\/strong> in terms of viability was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/?p=2151\" target=\"_blank\">Dallas<\/a>. Dallas seemed extremely well run, in that even being huge, it wasn&#8217;t too hard to get around. It had plenty of work and a drier climate than much of the rest of Texas, though it gets a lot of those tornados along with Oklahoma, so that is a downside.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2143\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/2015-09-12-19.59.52-e1442200832307-300x269.jpg\" alt=\"2015-09-12 19.59.52\" width=\"300\" height=\"269\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/2015-09-12-19.59.52-e1442200832307-300x269.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/2015-09-12-19.59.52-e1442200832307-1024x918.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/2015-09-12-19.59.52-e1442200832307.jpg 1792w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Runner up<\/strong> goes to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/?p=1976\" target=\"_blank\">San Antonio<\/a> for having a very low cost of living and its lovely downtown river walk.
