{"id":3282,"date":"2015-11-05T08:00:30","date_gmt":"2015-11-05T15:00:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/?p=3282"},"modified":"2015-11-05T08:00:30","modified_gmt":"2015-11-05T15:00:30","slug":"day-147-the-last-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/?p=3282","title":{"rendered":"Day 147: The &#8216;Last&#8217; Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We\u00a0headed across a small bit of Wisconsin to Michigan.<\/p>\n<p>We were absolutely exhausted and we ended up going the wrong way and having to reenter Minnesota and then go back into Wisconsin.<\/p>\n<p>There was very little in the far north of Wisconsin. By the time we got close to Michigan, we decided to just go into the closest entrance rather than the one in a town proper. It was a bit of a cheat, but honestly, tiredness aside, a state with a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Detroit\" target=\"_blank\">large failed city<\/a> is a turnoff. I&#8217;ve been to places like <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ann_Arbor,_Michigan\" target=\"_blank\">Ann Arbor<\/a> and they are nice enough, but when we were last near the region (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/?p=722\" target=\"_blank\">Columbus, Ohio<\/a>), we had decided against going up. We had a look at all of the lower 48 to varying degrees (not a lot of Michigan or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/?p=716\" target=\"_blank\">Kentucky<\/a>, but quite a lot of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/?p=1528\" target=\"_blank\">Florida<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hijenx.us\/?p=2074\" target=\"_blank\">Texas<\/a>). We traveled longer and saw more than either of us thought we would. We may have been knackered by the end, but I&#8217;m glad we did it as thoroughly as we could with the time and resources we had.<\/p>\n<p>Obviously it would have been nice to go to Alaska and Hawaii, but that would have greatly increased the time and price of the trip. That said, if anyone has any all expenses paid trips to give us, we&#8217;d love to go \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>Even though the trip around the country is done, the HiJenx are far from over. We still have to analyze everything, pick a place and actually go live there.
