We headed west to San Antonio. Before having a proper look around, we decided to get some 90 minute massages when saw an offer at a Chinese massage place just after seeing these:<\/span><\/p>\n

To give them some perspective, those are power lines crossing in the upper left hand corner.<\/p>\n

We also tried yet another Texas fast food chain. They seem to have several of their own. This one<\/a> was also quite good:
\n\"2015-09-04<\/a> After checking into our hotel, which was for once very central in a city, we checked out downtown San Antonio. The thing San Antonio is most known for is the\u00a0Alamo<\/a>, which is a location that was pivotal to the Texas Revolution, which according to the police officer there, was a Mexican civil war, though not everyone that lived in Texas at that time was Mexican from a cultural point of view even though they would have been Mexican citizens. He said they flew the national flag for everyone who fought there, which included the various parts of the UK, so they have a Welsh flag in there for instance.

After that, we went to a recommendation of my friend Brandi’s and what a great one! It was the San Antonio River Walk<\/a>. It looked like if Disney had tried successfully to make a whimsical attraction for adults:\u00a0
\n<\/a>\"2015-09-04<\/a> \"2015-09-04<\/a> \"2015-09-04<\/a> \"2015-09-04<\/a><\/p>\n

After having a look around, we decided to splash out and have dinner there instead of rubbish ready meals. We went to a very nice little Italian place right on the bank of the river and had some prosecco and pizza:<\/p>\n

We learned from the waiter that he enjoyed living in San Antonio. He said wages were low, but so was the cost of living. We also met some people from Houston and the woman told us Texas people are the friendliest in the world, and she based that on being a flight attendant and traveling the world in that way.<\/p>\n

We saw a bit more in the way of wild life on our way back:<\/p>\n

On our way back, we met a member of staff who told us about a haunted room on the fourth floor of our hotel. More importantly though, he gave us loads of local tips. He told us it floods horribly every 100 years or so and that the best neighborhood was called Alamo Ranch. Check out the rest of our day and the rest of his advice in the video below:<\/p>\n
